Obituary: Raymond A. Miller III

Raymond A. Miller III

July 08, 1948 - January 27, 2012

Raymond Miller III, 63, of New Fairfield, beloved husband and father passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27th surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born in Bethel on July 8, 1948, son of the late Raymond Miller Jr. and Mildred Miller.

Raymond attended Henry Abbot Tech High School, and upon graduation served in the U.S. Army. When he was discharged he started his career in rigging, initially with A.L. Venning, moving on to a 30 year stay with Mariano Bros. Rigging of Bethel.

In life, Ray’s family and friends were his greatest joy. He will always be remembered for his extraordinary determination to protect and preserve home and family and for always being there ready to assist friends and neighbors in need. In his quiet moments, Ray enjoyed tinkering with his automobiles and cool summer evenings spent in the White Mountains in NH.

Ray is survived by his wife Wendy, happily married for 40 years, his son Darryl and his beloved grandson Sean Miller, his sister-in-law Elaine Tilford of Brookfield and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Ernest Tilford.

We would like to thank all the angels along the way and especially the staff of Dr. Mark Rappaport at the Praxair Cancer Center.
